NO OTHER LAND at Movies That Matter’s Rough Cut Service

More good news from Movies That Matter!

As part of our collaboration, Close Up project NO OTHER LAND will participate in the festival’s Rough Cut Service. Congratulations to the directors – a formidable team of Palestinian and Israeli talents working together to create change through film.

NO OTHER LAND documents Basel, a young Palestinian activist, who has been filming homes in his community being destroyed by Israeli soldiers for ten years. As the community faces mass eviction, during the darkest period of his life, Basel develops an unlikely, intimate relationship with a similarly aged Israeli journalist – who joins his struggle.

Eight documentary projects from around the world (Iran, Georgia, Palestine, India, Kenya, Sweden, Ukraine) were selected for the Movies that Matter Rough Cut Service. They all address relevant and urgent topics and issues with great cinematic and narrative storytelling.
