BAGHDAD ON FIRE, a Close Up project from last year, has been selected to FIFDH Geneva‘s Impact Days 2022!
As part of this selection, BAGHDAD ON FIRE director Karrar AL-Azzawi and producer Jørgen Lorentzen will have the opportunity to gather with other filmmakers, NGOs, and foundations in order to find potential alliances and strategies that will increase the quality and results of their joint actions to have a positive impact on the world.
BAGHDAD ON FIRE is an intimate look at the struggle for democracy in Iraq.
FIFDH received more than 110 applications for their Impact Days program from around the world. With the help of an international selection committee, they have selected 16 whose directors come from 13 different countries including India, New Zealand, Chile, Nepal, Iraq, Myanmar and Ukraine, to name just a few.
FIFDH is one of the leading international events dedicated to film and human rights. For the past 20 years, the Festival has taken place in the heart of Geneva, the human rights capital, parallel to the annual main session of the UN Human Rights Council.
We congratulate Karra and Jørgen on this selection, and know it will take your film one step further in impacting and creating change in communities in Iraq and around the world.
