Storytelling Edit Lab in Berlin Days 1 & 2

Greetings from Berlin! Our Storytelling Edit Lab is well underway as day one and day two are complete and we move into day three.

We had two full and intense days of screenings of the four rough cuts followed by an in depth discussion on each one. Our mentors and filmmakers are focusing on the specific artistic challenges each filmmaker is facing, form and cinematic expression, and finding concrete and actionable ways to improve the cuts and strengthen the storylines and themes.

The filmmakers are incredibly excited to be here — together in-person — and the Close Up team is inspired by their powerful work.

The projects include:
SEARCHING FOR KIKHIA (Libya / Jihan Kikhia)
Q (Lebanon / Jude Chehab )
NO OTHER LAND (Palestine, Israel / Basil Adraa, Yuval Abraham, Rachel Shor, Hamdan Balal)
LETTERS FROM MS. IRAN (Iran / Farahnaz Sharifi, Leyla Rouhi)

Looking forward to the next few days!
