Nematullah participated in our 2021/2022 Close Up’s edition with his project DON QUIXOTE OF KABUL. Learn more about the talented and determined filmmaker Nematullah Khosh Ahmadi below:
Q: Tell us a bit about yourself – all the basics!
A: I come from Afghanistan, but I grew up in Iran and I currently live in the Netherlands. I’ve been working for multiple years in Afghanistan in multiple roles: as a makeup artist, as producer and event at times as assistant director for short films, fiction films and documentary films. Watching movies had always been one of my hobbies, but after I realized that I have a talent for filmmaking, I decided to pursue this interest and put all my efforts on it and in my project Don Quixote of Kabul.
Q: What advice would you give to your younger self?
A: My advice would be to discover a talent and ability and to stick to it, this will help to reach your goals sooner!
Q: If you could have coffee with any filmmaker, living or dead, who would it be and why?
A: Francis Ford Coppola, I like his work very much, especially his movie The Godfather.
Q: What accomplishment thus far are you most proud of?
A: Being part of the crew behind the film Kabul, City in the Wind by Aboozar Amini.
